How we handle reader data: messages, visits and link clicks

We are an independent information site and keep the data we collect to a minimum. This policy explains what we gather from readers, why we gather it and what a reader can ask of us. It covers our own site: the games, accounts and payments of the casino belong to the casino, and its privacy rules govern them.

What our site collects

DataWhere it comes fromPurpose
Contact messagesOur contact formAnswering and fixing errors
Analytics dataVisits to our guidesSeeing which guides readers use
Link clicksExternal and affiliate linksUnderstanding which topics help

A contact message holds whatever the reader chooses to write, so we ask readers to keep passwords, card numbers and account details out of it. Analytics data describes visits to our guides in general terms, such as which guide was opened and where the visit ended.

Sharing with third parties

Affiliate links

Some links on our site may be commercial (affiliate) links. If you follow one, the other site applies its own privacy rules to your visit, and the click lets that site recognise the visit as coming from us.

External websites

Every site we link to is run by someone else and follows its own privacy rules. A reader who moves on to the casino’s site is subject to the casino’s rules from that moment, and the casino’s support team answers questions about them.

Service providers

Analytics tools process visit data on our behalf, and the information they hold is limited to what the measurement needs.

Changes to this policy

Updates

When we change how we handle data, we update the policy and its date together.

Reading the date

A newer date means newer wording, so check it when you return. Older wording is replaced, and the policy shows only its current form.

Your rights

Asking about your data

Through our contact form you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to a particular use of it. Name the message or the visit you mean, and we reply once we have found the matching record.

Taking it further

If you are unhappy with our answer, the Information Commission (ICO) helpline is 0303 123 1113. The Information Commission is the UK data protection regulator, based at 4th Floor, No.3 Circle Square, 5 Hawkshaw Street, Manchester M1 7BL.

How we use information

We use the data we collect for three purposes:

  • To reply to messages sent through our contact form
  • To correct and improve our guides after a reader points out a mistake
  • To measure which guides readers find useful, so that we know where to add worked examples

Cookies and analytics

Our site uses cookies for basic operation and for analytics that count visits, and affiliate cookies are set when a reader follows one of our commercial links. Our cookie policy covers each type and how to manage it in your browser.

Keeping data secure

  • Only what a purpose needs is collected
  • Contact messages are kept for as long as the reply needs
  • A deletion request is acted on once the matching message has been found
  • Readers are asked to leave passwords and card numbers out of every message
